Sometimes
(J. Morats)

I met a woman out last night - she made me crazy
She tied a cherry stem knot with her mouth
I'm reflecting today - and I've got to say, she'd be a real gem heading south

The vagrant man stands by the window
He just hit me up for some change..
I stiffed him this time - and now his share of wine will share my ride home on the train..

Sometimes I feel sad and lonely
And then all my friends come around
So if you hear me complaining
Roll the window up - ignore the sound

We nicknamed you the king of useless information..
You always beat the people playing jeopardy..
You scored a 282 on your IQ - but the king of Twister is me...

And we're all working our ass off to make a living
And we play just as hard through Saturday night..
And we're singing the blues in our new clean room shoes
And sometime that makes things alright..

Sometimes I stay up all night talking
Sometimes I tell my jokes for free
Sometimes I climb up to the summit
Sometimes the mountains bury me
Sometimes you think you're getting somewhere
Sometimes you really get there too
Sometimes you sneak a taste of sugar
Sometimes the time sneaks up on you....
Sometimes we raise our hands in glory
Sometimes we raise them in disgust
Sometimes we all can make a difference
Sometimes 'the Man' is holding us
Sometimes a river carves a canyon
Sometimes a rock falls from the sky
Sometimes we lay around and wonder
We've got a lot of things to try........

Ten thousand Miles Away
(J. Barber)

Whoever said that it has to end
It'll stay alive if you take a chance
If you free your mind

Of course I care about the past,
How about a new beginning and a better end
If you take a chance
If you take a step

If you wanted to say goodbye, then why are you crying now
Why is it hard to stay, 10,000 miles away
I see us in my car, as we both drive away,
From the misery of yesterday, to a new beginning

I see visions of us still holding hands
Through the streets of London and the River Seine
Its so far away,
It was yesterday

6 months have passed since I saw you last,
6 months of winter that will never end
Will it ever end?
Will there be a spring again?
I don't want to let go ...

I don't want to waste the time that God gave
Only to displace, into the arms of another woman
I want to hold you now, where I know that you'll be safe
And I don't want to wait, through the rain of another day
I see us in my car, as we both drive away,
From the misery of yesterday, to a new beginning

If you wanted to say goodbye, then why are you crying now
Why is it hard to stay, 10,000 miles away.

She's Got A Way With Robots
(G. Erickson)

She caught my eye across the lab
To hear her laugh behind the scope
She didn’t need to have a partner
Didn’t mean I couldn’t hope

All the boys in class said, “Wow,
How’d she do her labs so fast?
Can she help me with the answers?
Let’s get together after class.”

She’s got a way with robots
Turning OR gates into ANDs
She’s got a way with robots
I'm spinning out-of-band

Will you help cascade my flip-flops?
Ripple counters don’t work now
Can’t engage the stepper motors
Saddest boy in Robot Town

We made a new truth table
Toggled up and toggled down
Solenoids were actuated
Watch my Robot dance around

She’s got a way with robots
Turning OR gates into ANDs
She’s got a way with robots
I'm spinning out-of-band

Let’s generate some wave forms
Asynchronous inputs all tied high
Got one hand on a test probe
The other hanging at my side

And maybe after this semester
After we both graduate
We’ll get a job together
Take our Robots out of state
